BECA Engineering Case Competition

This year’s Beca Engineering Case Competition kicked off with an air of excitement! With 25 teams registered, growth of the engineering competition has been dramatic in the past few years since it’s inception in 2013. It aims to provide students with the chance to apply their engineering backgrounds to a real world problem, thinking critically about the challenges in innovation and feasibility. The competition mixes students from across the engineering and business faculties as the solutions must be both technically feasible and financially sound.

Teams had 24 hours to analyse, strategise and create a presentation for the Electric Vehicle Battery market. This exciting industry challenged teams to come up with new ideas and reimagine their understanding of sustainability and marketability. The standard of presentations was exceptional as each team showed the hard work and time they had spent.

Congratulations to the winning team HMH with members Henry Whelan, Anthony Greer and Jesse Prendergast, and well done to all participants for their outstanding presentations. A big thank you to Beca for sponsoring the event and providing students with this unique opportunity, allowing them to explore engineering solutions for big problems. We look forward to holding the competition again next year and with the Science Case Competition in Semester 2!
