With today’s consumers being bombarded by so many advertisements, a brand’s marketing strategy can single-handedly make or break their business. With Brand Challenge, you get to take the reins and develop a successful marketing message!
The Brand Challenge will see you tap into your marketing knowledge and creativity, and will provide a chance for you to present in front of industry judges. This year’s challenge sees teams preparing a marketing strategy for Contiki. Prizes include a Contiki trip for the winning team, $500 prize pool for 2nd and 3rd, and a paid internship with Contiki!

6 days for all teams to produce a 15 page deck (10 page appendices, transition/signpost slides not included in count) + a one page executive summary
5 finalist teams will then be selected to present in front of a panel of judges
Must all be paid MCC members
Up to 4 members
You may sign up as a team, or as an individual (individuals will be allocated to random teams)
Registrations close and case release: Thursday 19th September
Tutorial: Friday 20th September, 6pm in OGGB Case Room 2
Submissions due: Wednesday 25th September, 5pm
Finalists Notified: By evening of Sunday 29th September
Deadline for slide deck modifications: Monday 30 September, 5pm
Finalis Presentations: 6:30pm, Tuesday 1 October
1st place: Every team member will win a seat on Contiki’s Jaffas ‘n’ Jandals itinerary from Auckland to Paihia, which includes accommodation, transport, three meals and select experiences (worth $455 pp)
2nd place: $300 cash prize
3rd place: $200 cash prize
There will be a tutorial on Friday 20th September at 6pm in Case Room 2 where representatives from Contiki will share what they are looking for and answer any questions. This will be followed by a case-cracking tutorial, presented by Jade Beckmann. Jade was on last year’s winning team; as part of the first prize, she won an internship at Contiki over summer.
