The Development Squad is a five-week training program focused on personal development, analysing business cases and building practical business knowledge. The programme is typically run three times a year in Semester 1, Mid-Semester Break and in Semester 2. In each session between 12-16 top students are selected.

Being part of the Case Programme is extremely rewarding and can open doors to competing in further external case competitions. Students who have gone through this program are eligible for head-to-head, national and international competitions representing the University of Auckland. Students have been lucky enough to travel around the world to many countries to compete including United States of America, Canada, Hong Kong, Singapore and Thailand.

Case Programme Alumni are now in top consultancies, corporations and investment banks in New Zealand, Australia and further a field. This includes McKinsey, Bain, BCG, Deloitte, PWC, Fonterra, Goldman Sachs, Deutsche Craigs…

Semester One: 5 weekends post Mid Semester Break, as follows: Sunday May 5th, Sunday May 12th, Sunday May 19th, Sunday May 26th, Sunday June 2nd

Inter-Semester Break: Dates TBC

Applications for Development Squad close at the end of the day on which you compete in your preliminary round.

 

In order to apply you must have competed in one of the following competitions:

For Semester One and Mid-Semester Break:

  • Semester One Deloitte Open Case Competition
  • Semester One Deloitte First Years’ Case Competition
  • Energy Centre Case Competition

For Semester Two:

  • Semester Two Deloitte Open Case Competition
  • Semester Two Deloitte First Timers’ Case Competition

 

After competing in one of the prerequisite competitions you may apply for the Development Program.
